UnLtd was established in the UK in 2000 with a grant of £100 million from the Millennium Commission. The aim of UnLtd is to identify, invest in and support social entrepreneurs in the UK. Today UnLtd makes more than a 1,000 awards to individuals in the United Kingdom each year.

Based on the success of UnLtd in the UK, a similar but completely independent programme, UnLtd India, was started in 2007 to support social entrepreneurs in India.

UnLtd South Africa was created in 2009 by founding trustees Heather Brandon and Kathy Watters.  Although it is independant, It has the same remit as the UK and India - to fund and support the social entrepreneurs who we believe are important to the country’s transformation. Registered in South Africa as a Non Profit Organisation (095-247-NPO).
