UnLtd South Africa is a home for social entrepreneurs. We find, fund and support exceptional people with innovative ideas to develop sustainable social enterprises. We work with social entrepreneurs from project start-up to the point of investment readiness, providing a package of financial and non-financial support. We are registered as a Non Profit Organisation (095-247-NPO)

How we work

We receive and distribute funds to social entrepreneurs and provide them with a package non-financial support. The funding comes directly from funders with an interest in this work or through partnerships with business, NGOs and government departments looking to fulfill their enterprise development or social impact remit.

 Financial support enables us to provide social entrepreneurs with:

• Seed funding for start-up costs;
• Expertise to help refine their ideas into a sustainable business model and to develop management skills; and
• Coaching on belief systems, values, trust, attitude and social cohesion to help overcome apartheid’s legacy of disempowerment and entitlement.

 
Who we support and how are we different

We support people with groundbreaking ideas and the passion and commitment to make them happen.

Our approach fills a number of gaps in the enterprise development and social change space in South Africa.

• We fund entrepreneurs who deliver social change while supporting themselves and their community/employees.
• We get involved at concept stage, often before the social entrepreneur has put anything into practice, usually before an organisation is registered, and almost always before other funders or supporters get involved.
• We provide professional and personal support (bespoke business planning, one-to-one coaching and signposting to sources of further expertise).
• We link social entrepreneurs to people who can enhance their social capital and resources.
• We encourage entrepreneurs to access more funding and support as their project develops.
