An UnLtd award is a small cash grant (typically R20,000 – R30,000) combined with a tailor-made package of non-financial support (mentoring, coaching, training and access to networks) allowing an early stage entrepreneur to test their idea in the marketplace.

We fund both start-up projects and established entrepreneur programmes. Our current focus is on Level 1 funding. Further levels will be available over the next couple of years.

Level 1 – Start up support to build entrepreneurial capacity for people starting out or piloting new ideas. Can be up to R50,000 of grant funding matched with 160 hours (average) of hands-on support for up to two years. Funding supports specific aspects of the business and can be banked for up to two years.

Level 2 – Support that frees up an entrepreneur’s time to develop a project. For individuals wanting to develop existing projects towards greater impact, sustainability or investment readiness. Can be up to R150,000 of further grant/ loan funding, plus 220 hours (average) of hands-on support for a year. (to be launched).

Level 3 – Support for project replication and scaling up. (to be launched).
